Principal's Message

A Message from Administration

As the school year quickly comes to a close, our Administrative Team would like to express our sincere thanks to our wonderful students, our gifted and talented staff and to our supportive parent community for making the 2016-2017 school year such a success! Students have flourished in our learning community not only in their academics but in Music, Art and Drama as well!

The entire team at Sacred Heart Parish has provided ongoing support as has Father Tom, Red Deer Catholic’s Division Priest.  As a collaborative team, we have worked diligently to make Christ known every one of our children.

Please be advised that our last day of school is Wednesday, June 28th. Our year end assembly will begin in the gym at 1:15pm. Thursday, June 29th is a staff organizational day (no students attend on this day) and report cards can be picked up beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30th from each student’s classroom teacher.

Looking to the 2017-2018 school year, the front office will be open beginning on Monday, August 21st.  The first day of classes for all students will be on Thursday, August 31st. On Monday, September 4th, there is no school as this is the Labor Day long weekend.

Our School Council team is very excited to spearhead our major fundraising campaign in the first weeks back to school. Fundraising is a very important part of our school’s culture as it provides curriculum related, meaningful experiential learning for all children at St. Martin’s. Our students strongly benefit from this type of learning as it addresses the diverse learning styles within our community.  Students will be asked to support the sale of magazines and other useful items through QSP in September.  Our entire school team thanks everyone, in advance, for their support!

Blessings for a restful summer,

Cathy Cameron
